The High Street House
Developed by Noiascape, High Street House is a multi-unit residence in Shepherd's Bush offering private apartments connected to co-living spaces, including a shared workspace.
Located on a busy West London high street, the exterior façade above is retained, celebrating the history and character of the traditional Victorian terrace.
High Street House is home to an eclectic mix of studios and apartments that reimagine new ways of living. Each one is unique; some have private outdoor terraces, others make use of double-height spaces with mezzanines, or even house sculptural ‘rooms within rooms’.
All of the spaces feature colourful concrete floors, reflecting the vibrant community both within High Street House, and on its doorstep. Bespoke beds incorporating storage and shelving allow residents to display cherished objects and memories.
Design features are used throughout the house to create moments that encourage connection; a one-book library within the handrail of a staircase, for example, prompts incidental encounters as residents share books with one another.
A ground floor workspace serves as a modern work-from-home hub for residents, and seamlessly transitions into a flexible public events venue - hosting exhibitions, exercise classes, supper clubs, and more. The light-filled space features a bold material palette of pigmented red concrete floors and bespoke joinery built from Douglas fir. Interior glazing borders the hallway staircase, encouraging spontaneous connections between passing neighbours.
